Tears in Argentina

Tears in Argentina

It’s difficult to not get emotional when someone stands in front of you, hands folded, with tears running down their face whispering, "Mucho gracias. Thank you sir." I hugged the humble gentleman as he stood next to his wife who was beaming with sweetness. They had come for the reception at a smal...

No Place to Play

No Place to Play

Situated high on a hill just north of the Sea of Galilee sits the ancient town of Tzfat (Safed). Loved by artists and orthodox Jews alike, Tzfat has an alluring quality, some claim, second only to Jerusalem. It’s winding roads, artist shops, and especially the breathtaking view of the lake of Gali...

Everybody Has A Story

Everybody Has A Story

Everyday there are new faces at the Jerusalem Support Center (JSC).  They come with their own unique set of circumstances and needs.  All of them are immigrants that we are able to impact in practical ways.    Once a month, on Tuesdays, we have what is called 'Drug Addict' day.  Honestly, it is...

Imagine children hearing the sound of sirens filling the air as missiles are falling around the city they live in. While other parents are protecting their families and making sure their kids are safe in their bomb shelters, these children have no one caring for them. Sounds almost fictitious doesn’t it? Yet it is a reality for the children in the poorest section of Tzfat, Israel.

For months now, Ministry to Israel (MTI) has had teams of believers going to the school in this area to help build a bomb shelter there for these kids and to restore the dilapidated building and grounds where they go to school.

Contributing to the Armies of Israel

The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) is one of the most highly trained and experienced armies in the world. Since the re-founding of the State of Israel in 1948, this tiny nation, surrounded by enemies seeking its destruction, has depended on the IDF for its very existence. Of course, those of us who know the prophetic promises understand well that it is the God of the armies of Israel who sustains them against those who would hope to eradicate these people of the Book.

Training within the IDF is rigorous at any level, especially for the Special Forces units of the various Brigades: Golani, Givati, Kfir, Nahal and the Paratroopers.

For quite some time our staff at the Jerusalem Support Center (JSC) has had the privilege of getting to know many of these young men and women, especially the “Lone Soldiers.”

Americans have a difficult time imagining a life with bomb shelters and plans for an imminent attack from terrorist organizations or from hostile neighboring countries.  However, for Israel’s citizens, this is a daily reality.  For the past few years, Ministry to Israel has been involved in sending teams of workers through  Practical Assistance Tours into the northern part of Israel to help improve and upgrade large bomb shelters.

The most recent project was a 3000 square foot bomb shelter that served some 400 people living in a ten story building in the northern city of Tsfat.
