Imagine children hearing the sound of sirens filling the air as missiles are falling around the city they live in. While other parents are protecting their families and making sure their kids are safe in their bomb shelters, these children have no one caring for them. Sounds almost fictitious doesn’t it? Yet it is a reality for the children in the poorest section of Tzfat, Israel. For months now, Ministry to Israel (MTI) has had teams of believers going to the school in this area to help build a bomb shelter there for these kids and to restore the dilapidated building and grounds where they go to school. |

The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) is one of the most highly trained and experienced armies in the world. Since the re-founding of the State of Israel in 1948, this tiny nation, surrounded by enemies seeking its destruction, has depended on the IDF for its very existence. Of course, those of us who know the prophetic promises understand well that it is the God of the armies of Israel who sustains them against those who would hope to eradicate these people of the Book. Training within the IDF is rigorous at any level, especially for the Special Forces units of the various Brigades: Golani, Givati, Kfir, Nahal and the Paratroopers. For quite some time our staff at the Jerusalem Support Center (JSC) has had the privilege of getting to know many of these young men and women, especially the “Lone Soldiers.” |

For the past few years, Ministry to Israel has been involved in sending teams of workers through Practical Assistance Tours into the northern part of Israel to help improve and upgrade large bomb shelters. The most recent project was a 3000 square foot bomb shelter that served some 400 people living in a ten story building in the northern city of Tsfat. |
